Friend,

We hope these newsletters continue to find you safe and healthy. We are happy to share yet another addition to our virtual programming! Starting this Wednesday, 5/13, at 4pm, individuals who have been injured for less than 2 years are invited to join a few of our peer mentors for an open discussion and the opportunity to ask questions and meet others at a similar stage in their rehabilitation. Please see below for all virtual support group Zoom links.

We also have a great opportunity thanks to a generous grant from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and United Spinal Association. We have received KN95 masks to distribute to our members in need. Due to the limited amount of masks received, individuals will be provided masks on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to receive free KN95 masks from our Chapter, please email us at info@sciboston.org with the subject line "Masks" and include the following information:

First & Last Name of Person with SCI

Mailing Address

Phone #

Injury Level

Date of Injury

Please continue to look out for additional opportunities and program expansion. And, as always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need support or resources.
.

Sincerely,

Heather Wood

We have switched to a new email address! For many years we have used AOL services and for various reasons we have been exploring other options. We switched to G-Suite for Nonprofits in January and are excited to use the tools Google offers. We ask that you add our new email to your address book, because all of our future emails will come from info@sciboston.org.

GBC Blog: Donna's Travels

I hope everyone is well and safe during these difficult times. I'm Donna King, I was injured more than forty years ago. I have low-level incomplete paraplegia. In this short blog, I'd like to share my success stories and challenges while traveling. Travel and adventure has provided me with an excellent source of joy. Traveling requires more research and planning for disabled individuals. There are many factors to take into consideration such as lodging, transportation and accessible attractions just to name a few.

We are lucky to have Joe as a Peer Mentor. Read all about him and his talent in this great article in the new issue of New Mobility!

"Brogan Joe Murphy was trained classically as a realist oil painter, but his art was put on hold after back surgery complications made him a paraplegic. Now he uses painting as a pain management tool while he completes his life’s work — a portrait of poet Walt Whitman."
