| | | Please join us for the Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers game on Saturday, September 3rd for Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day at Fenway Park! We are thrilled to team up with the Boston Red Sox to kick off Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month and honor individuals living and thriving with paralysis, along with their families, friends, and caregivers. What better way to bring awareness to the community about SCI than coming together at Fenway for a Red Sox game with an on-field presentation, video, grouped seating, and a limited-edition hat give-away. The Red Sox have put aside discounted accessible and regular seating to accommodate all abilities. Your ticket purchase includes a special edition Red Sox SCI Awareness baseball hat. We have a limited number of tickets available, so get yours today! The flyer below provides links that will give you the option of purchasing a maximum of three accessible tickets (ie: one accessible and two companions) as well as general seating. If you need more tickets or assistance please contact Travis Pollio, from Red Sox ticket sales at tpollio@redsox.com Gates open at 2:40pm for the 4:10pm gametime start. Hats will be distributed at Gate B. Come early to see members of the GBC at the 4pm on-field presentation. Please note that there is limited accessible seating. In order to accommodate as many wheelchairs as possible we ask you to consider getting your companion seats in front of your seat. We’d like to maximize the number of wheelchairs in the limited accessible spots and appreciate your help with this. We do understand that this may not be not feasible for everyone’s family or personal situations. If the ticket cost is a barrier to you attending this event, please contact us at info@sciboston.org. For general questions, contact info@sciboston.org. We are so excited and cannot wait to share this day with you! Go Sox! |

| | From NCART: "The National Council on Disability (NCD) has announced it will host a virtual public Roundtable on August 3 from 1:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET to promote Medicare coverage of Power Seat Elevation and Standing Systems. This is a very positive development in establishing coverage for this important technology and we thank the NCD for its leadership. We want strong CRT stakeholder attendance to emphasize the pressing need to establish coverage. Advanced registration (see below) is required and everyone is invited to attend." The two-hour virtual roundtable will include perspectives from Members of Congress, people with mobility disabilities, clinicians who evaluate and prescribe mobility technology, researchers regarding the evidence base, and others regarding the legal and policy implications of coverage. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Marsha Blackburn along with Representative Jim Langevin will be part of the proceedings, as well as various members of the ITEM Coalition workgroup, including NCART. |
